La Paz, Baja California Sur (BCS). This Tuesday, June 21, the formation of tropical storm Celia was announced, which is located off the coast of Guerrero; It is estimated that, in the near future, it is approaching Baja California South, with a route outside the South Californian territory, according to data from the National Water Commission (Conagua).

The tropical system registers maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (km/h) and gusts of up to 95 km/h, moving west-northwest at a speed of 24 km/h, being at 580 kilometers (km) from Zihuatanejo, Guerrero.

According to data from the agency, for the next few days, Celia will reach category 1 on the scale of Saffir–Simpson and, by June 25, it would be located 620 km south-southwest of Cabo San Lucas.

According to the forecast, this Tuesday there will be torrential punctual rains in Veracruz, Puebla, Oaxaca and Guerrero (accumulated from 150 to 250 millimeters -mm-); Likewise, intense punctual rains are expected in Chiapas and Michoacán (with accumulations of 75 to 150 mm).

Likewise, winds with gusts of 50 to 60 km/h and waves of 1 to 3 meters high are expected on the coasts of Guerrero and Oaxaca, for which the general population in the aforementioned states was urged to take necessary precautions and attend to the recommendations of Civil Protection.
