SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, SLP., January 25, 2023.- Deputy René Oyarvide Ibarra pointed out that in relation to the issue of cattle theft there are at least 1,500 cases reported in the last 5 years, so it is necessary that they be increased the penalties to punish this crime more severely, on which a bill has already been presented in recent days.

The opinion in question referred to was previously approved by the Justice Commission of the State Congress, which stipulates that before the commission of this crime against small livestock producers should reach a maximum penalty of between 10 to 12 years in prison, emphasizing that this had been a request requested in meetings with producers and livestock associations mainly from the Huasteca area of the State.

Therefore, when this was presented, it was primarily due to the fact that the losses due to rustling for small producers are irreparable, said the legislator, since he described the Potosi region as a national power in livestock production, although he explained that if he did not have the legislative elements that inhibit such criminal actions will not have a field for investment, for this reason it is extremely important to have these reforms that have a positive impact on the region.
