The General Consulate of Mexico in San Francisco confirmed this Tuesday that two Mexicans died and one more was wounded in one of the two shootings that took place on Monday in the city of Half Moon Bayin California.
Through a statement, the agency noted that the injured compatriot is in a hospital in the city of Palo Alto. Local authorities reported that the victim remains in serious condition.
The authorities presume that the attack was due to a case of workplace violence.
The only known connection between the victims and the suspect is that they might have been co-workers. (…) All the evidence we have points to a case of workplace violence,” San Mateo County Sheriff Christina Corpus said Tuesday at a press conference.
Seven people were killed and one seriously injured Monday after two shootings in a farming community in Half Moon Bay19 kilometers south of San Francisco, made up of a greenhouse and a farm where mushrooms were collected.
Four fatalities were found near the farm and the other three in an adjoining place.
The suspect, identified as a 67-year-old male named zhao chunlidrove to the parking lot of one of the Half Bay Moon sheriff’s offices and turned himself in minutes after the attacks.

Authorities, who say he acted alone, found a semi-automatic pistol registered to his name inside his vehicle.
Minors witnessed the attack, since several families live on the farm, according to the Police in a press conference on Monday.
