Last night it was reported that the IPN appointed José Roberto de Jesús Bastarrachea as the new director of the Superior School of Medicine and that the National School of Biological Sciences and the Zacatenco unit have already lifted the work stoppage and will hand over the facilities today, to return to classes. on September 28, after announcing the rescheduling of activities.

The management of the Higher School of Commerce and Administration (ESCA), Tepepan unit, announced that the school facilities were reviewed by specialists, due to the earthquakes of September 19 and 22, without evidence of structural damage.

Through a statement, the head of the campus, Judith Fomperosa Meza, informed the student community that on September 21 at 11 a.m., members of the IPN Board of Works and Installations (POI) went to the ESCA to check if the buildings had been damaged by the tremor of Monday the 19th.

The executive secretary of the POI, José Alejandro Camacho Sánchez, explained that “the maximum acceleration” recorded in the earthquake that day “did not exceed 30 gal, so based on the regulations in force in Mexico City, it is not appropriate to carry out conduct a safety and occupancy assessment.”

Due to the above, Camacho Sánchez concluded that “the property is habitable and can continue with its operation.”

Meanwhile, the Cecyt 13 community reported on social networks that it had also requested an expert report from its facilities, after the latest earthquakes, and denounced that the authorities only carried out a “quick inspection” done in an allegedly incorrect manner.
